Central Africa Republic Overview

Central African Republic is in the Centre of Africa and borders Cameroon, Chad, South Sudan, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo.

The country is vast and flat with scattered hills in the Northeast and Southwest which currently has a traditional economic system in which subsistence agriculture and forestry remain the backbone of the economy.

The two main languages are French and Sangho, the country has a GDP per capita of $945 reflecting the need for economic growth, the economy is currently split between agriculture 43.2%, services 40.8%, industry 16%.

The country is vast covering 622,844 sq. km. and it is sparsely populated with only 5,400,000 inhabitants, the capital city is Bangui which has a population of 889,231.
